The Vancouver Canucks are a great icehockey-team from Vancouver, B.C. Canada, and they play in the Pacific Division of the NHL, the National Hockey League, which is the biggest and most famous hockey league of the world. I became a fan of Vancouver, when I saw them play in the Stanley Cup-final in 1994 against the New York Rangers. They lost 4 to 3 unfortunately, but ever since, I've been a hockey nut!
The Vancouver Canucks have some of the best players in the NHL, such as #10 Pavel Bure (also-known as the 'Russian Rocket' because of his tremendous speed), #89 Alexander Mogilny, who is a Russian and a great winger, just like Bure. The Canucks also have one of the best centers in NHL-history, #11 Mark Messier, who played alongside Wayne Gretzky for quite a few years; and the Canucks also have #16 Trevor Linden, who is also a great talent; I believe he even has the record of most consecutive games played
Unfortunately, the Canucks don't have a very good defence and this is one of the reasons, that the last couple of years haven't been the best couple of years. But recently, the Canucks fired their headcoach and hired Mike Keenan (the same coach who led the Rangers to victory over the Canucks in the Stanley Cup-final!). Since then the Canucks have come of their 12-game losing streak and started winning, which is a very good thing of course.
